Tools of Innovation for some of us! What’s yours?

Innovation is refreshing. Often times, big names are attached to innovative ideas. Yet, the inventors usually aren’t famous until their innovation is accepted! Funny, how we don’t think how most of our greatest innovations were created by unknowns at the time.

My favorite “Courage to Step into Innovation” Quote

Below is one of my favorite quotes for inspiration. This particular awareness is very important for Business Leaders! So important that when I take on a new clients this quote is part of their Welcome Package. This makes sense when you understand that most of my clients are creating their own business or revamping and amping up their current business. Each of them is amidst innovation whether they identify with this or not. This quote supports building strength as we take courageous steps and leaps forward:

“We have to continually be jumping off cliffs and
developing our wings on the way down.”
~ Kurt Vonnegut

Innovation: The Business Owners Unspoken
Job Description

I consider this quote the ultimate invitation for Business Owners/Entrepreneurs. It is an element of our unspoken job description. It is what we need to be doing each day. New marketing tactics, systems, product development, hardware and software to master, or relationships all require us to constantly step into them. Business Owners don’t have the luxury of waiting. It is their job to always be saying “YES” to whatever is in front of them. Well, unless it is impeding upon their mission to fulfill their vision.

Innovation Need Not Be Continuous Toil

Alright, innovation has it stumbling blocks. At times when we hit a stalemate. We might have nothing more to move forward. This is when we need to tap our imagination again. When this happens to writers, they say they have writer’s block. Other times we may be frustration because we didn’t get the results we were seeking. Edison, Einstein, and the creators of WD-40 know all about this! Yet, what leads them to their successes was the intrigue to improve. If you haven’t read my blog on Edison yet, click here to learn what Edison can teach business leaders.
