Direction through Clarity:
Small Business Strategy

Do you have a direction or path for your success?
Are you wasting time and not making the progress you want?
Do you know which direction you should be orienting yourself toward?

Recently I’m hearing Small Business Owners (SBOs) share how they don’t have clarity to start getting traction on their goals. The odd thing is other SBOs are sharing how they have movement, they just aren’t creating any movement in the right direction.

Either way, their Business’s Performance is impeding their Business Success. Since this is a hot topic, I decided to update a post from 2013 to help you accelerate. This is one of my favorite posts. The surprising hero teaching you how to find “right direction through clarity” is a hoot!

Direction through Clarity Nature’s Story

Very early this morning, while the grass was still laden with dew, I was out on the patio reflecting all of what needs to be completed today. I had just completed my meditation and was soon to begin my day when I noticed an ant.

This was a frantic little ant for he had lost his direction! He was racing back and forth on a small weed which had come up through the cracks on the patio.

I was fascinated by this because I knew that ants create a scent trail wherever they travel. That trail is for them to easily get back home again (like our version of breadcrumbs)!

So imagine my amazement at how long it was taking him to discover he was on a detour or what my clients call “the scenic route”.

This ant’s detour was extended.

Eventually he figured it out and I cheered him onward to his destination.

Then, I started thinking about how so many of us behave just like this ant!

Lao Tzu guides us with some great wisdom:
“If you do not change direction,
you may end up where you are heading. “

Direction through Clarity Insights from My Patio

The ant was scurrying. How often do we find ourselves scurrying?

Or even more insanely, how often are we scurrying when we are close to our destination? This ant was less than a quarter inch away from getting his feet moving in the right direction again.

Do you have a business project that has you showing up like my patio ant?

The patio rocks, which were the clear path (or best direction) to move upon, had a weed push through a small gap between the rocks. How often do little weeds (distractions) show up in our world?

Better yet, how often do we allow them to reroute our direction?

Life is full of weeds.

The key is to identify them as a distraction instead of your path to success as soon as possible. Once you do, you can get back on the proper path and move in the direction you need to get to your destiny!

Direction through Clarity Question for YOU

Do you know which direction you are to be orienting yourself to or are you behaving similar to my patio ant?

Re-orienting your efforts in the right direction through clarity isn’t achieved by winging it. What are you going to do to stay on the best path to attain YOUR Business’s Success?
