Are you willing to be successful?

What you willing to do to attain what you want?

Are you willing
to be successful?

Are you willing? Willingness is an interesting topic for Small Business Owners, who typically are quite willing to do the unusual. Willingness requires dedication and commitment – even when things are difficult.

This is one of the reasons many say hard work “brings success”. However, maybe it’s the willingness to succeed – consistently putting ourselves out there. Maybe that’s what is more difficult than doing the actual work. This is an important topic because it directly impacts YOUR Business’s Success and overall performance.

Allow me to introduce today’s guest blogger: Susan White

#1 Bestselling Author Susan White, founder and Therapist of Lifeskills Center, Ltd., is our guest blogger today. Susan is a practical Therapist with keen insight into how each one of us functions. She helps people navigate through life in a more effective manner with her guidance. Susan’s wisdom is 100% applicable to your business. This is why I invited her to be one the members of the Brilliant Breakthroughs for the Small Business Owner #1 Bestselling Book Series Author Team.

On November 14, 2018 our group of 8 Brilliant Practicing ExpertsTM , will be releasing their book to coincide with National Entrepreneurs Month. It is written specifically for Small Business Owners, by Small Business Owners, to help you learn how to win BIG at small business in the 21st century!

To give you a glimpse of a couple different chapters, I invited our co-authors to write a short guest blog to learn about why their chapter topic is important to YOUR Business Success.

Susan White’s message about willingness:

When you dream of success, what does that dream look like? Is it filled with a large home, fancy cars, and all the trappings of being rich and famous? Is it a secluded cabin in the woods far from civilization? Do you look at your current situation with gratitude along with a realization that you’re already successful – right now?

We all say we want success, but are you actually willing to be successful? It’s an odd question to ponder, and an even odder question to explore. Most people would respond to the question with a resounding “Yes, of course!” However, the willingness to be successful is quite different from the outcome of success.

“Are You Willing to be Successful?” is a chapter I wrote for Brilliant Breakthroughs for the Small Business Owner: Fresh Perspectives on Profitability, People, Productivity and Finding Peace in Your Business – Vol 2, releasing on November 14, 2018. In it, I explore the concepts of willingness and success. I posed the question, “How do you define success?” to three small business owners. In my research, I uncovered a variety of themes, definitions, and measurements of success. Some mirror my own, but I have also been pleasantly surprised by how others perceive and define success.

Research reveals surprise about willingness:

What has surprised me most? All interviewees revealed that willingness and success isn’t perceived as a monetary measurement. Rather, the point of reference for success had more to do with values and intention than money. Don’t get me wrong… money is clearly important to all of us as a tool, but it was not the be all and end all as one might think. There was agreement that money is the “fruit” of both willingness and success.

My research led me to explore concepts of luck, growth (both personal and business), failure, self-satisfaction, and work. Not unsurprisingly, anyone who wants to be successful needs to be willing to work hard… but, there is so much more! Check out my chapter to gain more insights. Creating a sense of clarity about both willingness, as well as your definition of success, can help catapult you into realizing your dreams – no matter what they are!
