Kung Fu Panda 3: teachethe awesome business strategies of
Losses, Agility, & Potentiality

Kung Fu Panda 3 (2016) is an exceptional movie to improve your Business Performance on many levels. Our panda hero, Po, is living up to his awesomeness potential once again! I admit, it was difficult to pick which parts of the movie’s plot to share as business strategies. Why? There’s as many awesome business strategies in this movie as there are baby pandas! This movie could easily be watched by someone who hasn’t seen the first 2 movies because the beginning is a recap.

Kung Fu Panda 3 is different from the first 2 movies because it honors the Eastern philosophy of Kung Fu Panda. It’s wisdom-sharing was surprising and appropriate. Even the animation is an exquisite artistic blend of West meets East. No spoilers here! Kung Fu Panda 3 is a movie for all ages!

Kung Fu Panda 3 Business Strategy
#1 Losses

Po (our main character who is the Dragon Warrior), experienced a great loss when he was a child. He proceeded with his life and was enriched because of this loss. When Po has to opportunity to choose if he’d like to rekindle that loss he is twice blessed. Just as it is in life, all is not as it appears for Po. Po must learn to deal with the results of choices he and others make. He learns the value of loss and accepts that it opens new opportunities.

How often do you think you have lost something? Yet, the truth is that it appears to be a great blessing in disguise?  Too often we fret over our “loss”. The reality is as a master of Po says, “Time is an illusion, there is only the now. When we experience loss, we are holding onto the past. We aren’t forward focused.

#2 Agility

The Panda Village demonstrated how life could be if we learned to live a life of balance, agility, and harmoniously… to “go with the flow”. I loved one of the lines, “Pandas don’t walk, they roll.” This was true of the village, they simply “rolled with it”. This was one of their secrets to success. Whatever happened, they flexed to experience it. Their agility was highlighted when they had to overcome a threatening force.

Do you roll with the punches business  and projects offer? Are you agile or rigid? Your success, may depend on you being about to flow with whatever comes your way much more than you may realize.

#3 Potentiality

Po, is invited to step into his potentiality to be a Master. He doesn’t understand how to become it if he doesn’t know what he’s trying to become. He is confused. Further, Po’s teacher says, “If you only do what you can do, you’ll never be better than what you are. Po goes where he is guided to go, and makes sure he stays on task. Eventually he finds his potentiality and must make choices of loss and gain to proceed.

How often do you feel that you know there is something more to do and be, but you don’t know what it is? Seemingly, your potential eludes you because you are caught in a loop doing the same thing, hanging out with the same people, and/or spending your down time experiencing what you’ve already experienced?

  1. Beautiful animation and good voice acting by the original cast with new ones added. A lot of laughs along the way, also, as the panda penchant for eating…dumplings, noodles, whatever…is exploited and used as a defensive weapon. It’s a fun movie and a good one to add to your collection, whether or not you have the others in the set.
