Focus your efforts and make great gains
Do you know how to focus your efforts? Sometimes it is a breeze. But why is it so difficult at other times?
Usually the difficulty is because we aren’t self-disciplined. This is part of self-management. For a very long time I have been discussing self-management in this blog. Why? It significantly matters if becoming successful and profitable is your Business’s Goal.
I think more conversations about this need to occur with Business Owners. Small Business Owners, may become their worst enemies because they typically don’t have self-accountability systems in place. I admit it is difficult to focus your efforts when the phone is ringing and someone’s ringing your doorbell. Then the dog goes crazy, while the phone is dinging with text messages. Yes, all this while you’re trying to write a blog or get a proposal out to a potential client. Sound familiar?
What you do you do if you can relate to the above?
Stop everything. Close your eyes and exhale – very slowly. Next inhale slowly. Then ask, “What do I need to accomplish right now?” Now, focus your efforts to accomplish this one thing you determined is a priority.
When you slow down and concentrate all your thoughts (Right Thoughts) and focus your efforts (Right Actions) to accomplish your priority everything changes. All the sudden you have clarity and understand what your mission is in that specific moment.
When you work on one thing at a time with great focus your life becomes simplified. If you string several of these focused moments together you will gracefully accomplish many great things!
TIP: No more multi-tasking!
Just one great task, with focus, at one time. Then the next. Keep practicing until this becomes your new way of being!
Here’s 4 Quotes to Help You Focus Your Efforts:
“You will never reach your destination if you stop and
throw stones at every dog that barks.”
“Ignore the noise and focus on your work.
The successful warrior is the average man,
with laser-like focus.”
“Quite making yourself busy. Focus on being productive.”
“Realize deeply that the present moment is all you ever have.
Make the Now the primary focus of your life.”
