People decisions are some of the most difficult decisions a Business Owner-Leader or manager must make. Why? Emotions. Firing a systems or product is easier (unless you are the creator of it) because once you release it, it’s over. However, when firing people there are all sorts of emotions and as a friend of mine says, “… it can get messy”. She’s quite right!
Selecting people to serve on your team
Each business has different organizational need. People supply talent, which dictates performance. Selecting and placing the people in the appropriate positions is key. This is true if you are outsourcing a task as well. If you hire the best talent/people to support your business because you took the time to know them and assess their capabilities and your needs, you will better support your business’s success.

People, and their capabilities, matter. Peter F. Drucker, the Father of Contemporary Business preaches: make people your top priority. Additionally Drucker states, “The soldier has a right to competent command” (The Daily Drucker, p. 121). Drucker continues discussing taking ownership of failures as well as successes. Essentially Drucker addresses the significance of making sure you are good matchmaker between people and assignments. It’s important to know both well to make better matches.
