2 Productivity Tips for Success

Productivity is becoming a hot topic again! Why? Everyone is being pulled in many directions and becoming maxed out. Is this you?
It’s most folks, and in particular, this is a common conversation for Small Business Owners and Entrepreneurs. Your productivity level directly impacts your Business’s Performance.
I’m typically hearing: “There isn’t enough time”, “I can’t get to what I need to do”, “My To-Do List is never-ending”, “I’m working too hard”.
Are any of these things you say? If so, you’re not alone!
Folks, we’ve been told a lie or two about our productivity levels! I’ll save the busting of the time management myth for next week’s posts. But I want to share about The Law of Diminishing Returns and Productive Breaks.
The Law of Diminishing Returns is an economic theory. It essential says, that if you continue to put the same amount of resources into something, eventually it will not get as robust of an output as it did previously. Why? You’re human.
Humans have their concentration levels diminish, and need their physical body to be revitalized, etc. You are not a machine. You need to eat, sleep, drink, and move – probably more consistently than you already are.
What’s the solution to increasing
Besides the basic physical self-care I just shared? One of the easiest ways to boost your productivity level is what I’ve dubbed taking a Productive Break.
Productive Breaks as when you intentionally stop working on what you are (usually become you’re experience diminishing returns), and go do something else. While you’re doing something else, you are allowing your mind to quit thinking about what you were concentrating on, and take a break.
When your mind gets a break from work, it gets the time out it needs. If it’s rested, it can come back and perform better. Sort of like when you work out at the gym – you can’t do all your push-ups for the week at once!
Better performance occurs when you performing at a high level and are incrementally progressing.
Have you ever tried to do 100 push-ups at one time? You’ll probably hurt yourself and impede your overall progress. But if you take breaks between those work-outs, you can recover and come back to perform more effectively and efficiently.
Your business’s workload is no different than the above push-up example!
Experiment to find a system that works great for you. Don’t give up until you find it. It will significantly boost your productivity!
