Business Strategies & Tips for Next Week!
“Written goals transform you from a wandering generality into a meaningful specific.”
~ Zig Ziglar, Master of Success
Application of this Business Strategy for YOU:
Have you ever notice how until you write something down, usually on paper, you aren’t committed to accomplishing it? I’m not speaking of “wanting” something. More specifically, really committed to creating “right thought” and taking “right action” to make it reality. When we realize that something or someone is important enough that we take time to create a road map or path for success, we create a target of what success “is”.
Business Strategy to optimize your leadership or business performance:
Not even 3% of people have clear written goals – but those that do are the most successful in their field (Brian Tracy, Time Power, 2004). This is a powerful and simple business strategy to improve performance, which more of than now tends to be lost over time.
Let’s apply this to your professional performance: Pick one or two things which you choose to accomplish this calendar year. It doesn’t matter what they are – just make them attainable. This goal (or two) could be something you have been kicking around for awhile, something new, or even a training to improve your professional expertise. Have it yet? What is it? Now find a piece of paper, right now, and write it down!
Now that you have it written down (and whatever you do, don’t make this a bucket list), take a deep breath, sit back, and only imagine what it will look like when you accomplish this goal. How will you feel? What are the benefits you experience, and possibly others, once you accomplish this goal? WARNING: No need to create the “To Do List” for this activity… we all know that’s what comes next.
Now, take a couple pieces of paper and write down this goal again. Post it multiple times where you can see it often. Yes, I know you have heard of this technique before, but how often do you utilize it as a business strategy? What do you do with business strategies? Typically, when a business strategy is purposeful, we redistribute all our resources and efforts to actualize a strategy. OK, you’ve been waiting for this… go ahead and start your “action items” list. Again, do it in a mindful manner to keep you on hitting your bulls-eye!
TIP: There is only one thing the most successful thing the top Business Leaders do daily: envision their business’s strategies being fulfilled. They spend about 20 minutes, each day, envisioning their vision of the business being successful. What if you committed to envisioning, for 5 minutes a day, how the goal you wrote down would improve performance? I told you this business strategy would be simple AND powerful 🙂

~ Steve Maraboli
“A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline.”
~ Harvey Mackay
“Of all that is written, I love only what a person has written with his own blood.”
