Price Matters. Cost Matters. Profit Matters.
How do you figure this out without pulling out all you hair?
After just posting (yesterday) some oversimplified information on the best accounting and cost fact-finding, I find this article most fascinating and encourage you to continue your price-cost inquiry further!
Jeff Haden, the author of this article I am referring you to, is an outstanding business professional and great writer! Just in case you didn’t notice… I am a fan of his 🙂 AND I am smiling that we are both focusing on costs, pricing, customer satisfaction, and profitability on the same week….hmmmm, must be in the air 🙂
I appreciate Jeff’s approach because he allows you to do what I was going to write about next. So, please take the time to read through this and ask yourself some of his questions (I won’t be writing about this this since he has done it quite well).
I especially found Jeff’s question: “Is your perception of quality different from that of your customers? Quality is in the eye of the customer” to be the most valuable question for everyone to begin this inquiry. A true, good and hard look at this may determine everything else that you do with costs, pricing, and profitability. I believe this is the Best Starting Point. Read his insights about this. Do your own analysis. Then look at his other questions and insights! Also, feel free to share in the comments sections which one you will be spending the most time with…
