The Power of Hello
YOUR BUSINESS RESCUE COACH ASKS YOU:
Is it difficult for you to spark a conversation?
Does your business need more exposure?
Are your best business strategies letting you down? This past weekend I was at a conference in the Midwest. It was a smaller group – not over 200 folks, which created a wonderful opportunity to get to know more people and develop more networking opportunities for everyone. Yet, what I experienced was a great deal of people not even saying “hello”.
I admit, this perplexed me because of the type of conference it was. Again, I scratch my head… I don’t get how business leaders and owners are griping that they can’t secure enough sales/revenue/exposure in the marketplace while they are not even saying “hello” to a smiling (and friendly) face which happens to be right in front of them! Jeez, I don’t want to blame the social media age we are living in today, but something truly must change and soon!

The Business Rescue Coach asks, Do YOU:
- invite others into conversation?
- disregard invitations of conversation being presented to you?
- appropriately engage in as many conversations as possible?
- ask others questions so they can share their goodness?
- compliment others?
- ask for their business card before you offer yours?
- authentically follow-up to learn more?

Great insights, Maggie! I too have wondered about this type of situation, which I have also found myself in….people are not engaging the way they need to. I was at a conference recently and gave out my business cards, but hardly any one offered me their card back. Good reminder to get involved! Reach out! Connect!!! And dare I say it? Engage!!
