Business Strategy: Your Production Question

It’s 5:15 pm. Do you know where your personal life is?

How often do we allow our personal life to take a back seat to our professional life? For many entrepreneurs or those leading a business, typically it is far too often.

Getting out of the office “late” isn’t a flaw in your plan if you have built in time to “take liberties throughout the work day”. Often when your workday has the opportunity to be more flexible, you work “late” or “strange” hours. This when you must realize that your balance and your dream may not fit “the mold”  of what it is suppose to look like! Yet, that’s when what others perceive really doesn’t matter at all – or least it shouldn’t!

Remember: Your success is defined by you 🙂

This is what matters. Create a clear plan for yourself – a path with minimal distraction to keep you from the important things so you can do your most important work, both effectively and efficiently. Accomplishing this professionally, will allow you to have a personal and professional balance!

Additionally, all research proves that productivity is a reflection of how satisfied you are with your work -life balance. Remember how refreshed you are and able to slay any dragon after you have had a nice little time away?

What matters is that YOU have YOUR balance!

If you are exhausted, or even too exhausted to really assess this question for you and your business, then, most likely the answer is “no”. Then some of us are a little trickier and try to be sneaky and say “yes”, knowing full well that this isn’t the case at all! Then there are some of us who are really going to own this question and take a look at it… if the answer is truly “yes” than keep producing as you are 🙂

If it is anything less than an authentic “yes”, I encourage you to take some time this quarter to re-assess what your purpose and vision are (personally and professionally) and re-align your schedule and activities to support your desired outcomes. Take advantage of a quiet moment to do this as soon as one appears! Then, keep moving through this exercise so you are already in mindset and in motion when the calendar flips to a new year 🙂
