Business Strategy: Balanced Business Introduction (I of IV)

Overwhelmed? Out of balance? Does everyone and everything want a piece of you?

Over the past week or so, people have been commenting about balance, or the lack of it, they have with their business and their personal life.  This is one that I believe every Business Owner and Leader faces on a routine basis. The best way I have found to work with this concept is imagining a round shaped table…

If you have a one-legged table, the table is all wobbly. If you have a two-legged table, the table is still not balanced. Yet, when you create a three-legged table the stability occurs! OK, I’m not so naive to say a four-legged table isn’t solid, but for now we are focusing on the significance of the 3 critical aspects for your business balance 🙂

Your business requires you to be balanced in 3 overarching areas:

First Leg: Your Personal Development
(Your own life)

Second Leg: Your Business Development
(Your business)

Third Leg: Your Professional Development
(Your development as a professional at what you do for a living)

For the rest of the year, Monday’s postings be dedicated to focusing and strengthening each one of your table’s legs more specifically.

Action Items for building a balance table for your business to thrive:

For now, just think about what you already know is out of balance and list your imbalances or gaps/lack, into the appropriate categories. This alone is quite an accomplishment! And we will take it further over the balance of the year 🙂 As you are developing your lists, I will prepare us for next week’s brilliant business strategy as we begin this balancing act which bring great peace and prosperity to you and your business!

  1. I can relate to lack of balance…my professional life (still in transistion mode from what I am doing vs. what I want to be doing)…is hectic! Also a winter cold wants to linger zapping me of energy. I want a vacation!!! **Deep breathe**…..

I look forward to reading more about balance….
