Business Strategy: Your Approach to Accomplishment

Did you accomplish what you wanted today?

Are you concentrating on all the right things?

OK, if you are like most people you are still scratching your head about how your” To Do” List miraculously continues to grow! Perhaps you’re one of those folks who wants to pull your hair out because you can’t complete everything on it for even just one day-ugh!!!

Don’t fret! Your Business Rescue Coach is here to help and you will love how we start: please really give yourself a little break, for a moment, to assess your effectiveness. I know, how can we be talking about a break as your “To Do” List continues to grow as you are reading this! 🙂

Even with all the slick tools of day planning we have, either  electronic or hard copy, we tend to forget how effective they are… well, when you are using the system. Then somehow in the glory of our success with an effective system, we become a little lazy and even sloppy. A short while after that we tend to forget things or even begin to get behind our deadlines. My question for you is “why”?

Why are you not completing what you want/need to accomplish?

Alright, for now we will bypass one of the most obvious of issues: self-sabotage, but don’t be fooled how significant this aspect may be playing with your accomplishment rate! (We intentionally address this further in the Achieving Goals Workshop below.) Self-sabotage, organization, and prioritization are the biggies we all contend with; yes, all of us! I strongly suggest you pull our your day planner (hard or soft copy) and begin to use it again. However, this time I would like for you to consider prioritizing your day’s activities!

Your Business Rescue Coach’s Suggestions for Accomplishment:

  1. Stop self-sabotage: Stop frustrating yourself and open-up your day planner again.
  2. Begin organizing your activities:  Get everything you need into one tool. If you don’t see it happening effectively with the tool you have, you may not have the best tool for your needs. It may be time to consider another tool. I strongly encourage you to consider the company Planner Pads (www.PlannerPads.com). After trying everything, this is the one I have come back to and most of my clients utilize it quite effectively!
  3. Prioritize now: This is your key to success!  There always appears to be a better sequence/process of doing things much more effectively and efficiently. Often times we know what they are, we just try to use “shortcuts”. Often times, those exact shortcuts short change our effectiveness. This is another reason I strongly encourage people to utilize Planner Pad products, their system helps you prioritize each one of your “To Do” Lists, simultaneously and instantly!

Accomplishment Tip:

Go back and read an earlier post on Jan. 30, 2012 “Focus on 5” to help you with Suggestion #3.
