YOUR Business Rescue Coach invites you to the movies:
Let’s Stop, Look, and Listen to the Business Lessons
we learn from the Movies…
We receive lessons in the most unique places. Believe it or not, the movies provide wonderful business lessons for us! I enjoy noticing lessons which share what to do, or what not to do, as I find both are of equal value!
What can the movie, “The Amazing Spider-Man” (2012) teach us about business?
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN‘S BUSINESS STRATEGY #1
DO WHAT’S RIGHT: Especially when no one is looking
Peter is a special kid. He hasn’t had a great childhood and when he’s confronted with challenges he usually does what is right, best, or appropriate (reference: school yard fight). Do you show up that way when a challenge presents itself? As business owners, we encounter endless challenges. How do you ‘get good’ at overcoming those challenges? Practice. You may be unfamiliar with something but eventually, from taking enough other actions, you will be able to overcome obstacles with less effort!
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN‘S BUSINESS STRATEGY #2
BACK TO THE BASICS: Simplicity will always serve you well
Peter always goes back to the basics, which in return quantum leaps him into his next step (reference: Aunt May’s eggs, a simple kiss and tell, cracking his father’s code). Sometimes, we complicate things. Somethings don’t have a simple answer, and yet many do. Always be sleuthing for simplicity – your customers will love you for it 🙂 What in your business can you simplify immediately and make it even more powerful?
THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN‘S BUSINESS STRATEGY#3
SHOW UP: Opportunity presents itself to those who show up
Peter had a great deal of courage for well, anyone, especially a teenager (reference: getting into Oscorp, the lab, and his girlfriend’s dinner table). With each choice to place himself where he knew he needed to be, he gained great ground with catapulting himself to the “next level” of his quest! Life always rewards those who choose to show-up. Are you showing up enough for your business’s success? Where is it that you need to be OR what is the one new thing you need to learn and master so your business can grow and be more profitable? OK, I get we mere humans don’t have bio-cable (spider webbing) to work with as a safety net, but what would you do if you did?
