Sooner or later, you’ll need to simplify your tools to stay sane and that’s where Customer Relationship Management Systems (CRMs) play a starring role in growing your business.

There’s a 90% chance you’ve heard of CRM, are in the midst of your CRM search, or own an over-priced system you sparsely use. No matter where you are in your CRM stage, one fact is clear, few small business owners know how to use a CRM or are aware of its full capabilities.

The lack of CRM awareness and its reasons run rampant in the small business world. Regardless of why, I firmly believe having the full vision and basic understanding of these amazing systems can catapult your business to new heights.

WARNING:

I want to stress the importance of having an appropriate system because it’s key to making CRM work for you. There’s no such thing as a one size fits all system. So asking your peers for their opinions to fast track your search won’t suffice as they may have different needs than you.

All too often, small business owners buy a system with all the bells and whistles. But investing in a robust CRM doesn’t guarantee ROI or increased productivity. Having more features won’t necessarily make your business efficient. On the contrary, a robust system can create more distractions. Furthermore, not having the right tools to run your business will drastically slow you down and cripple your cashflow.

Finding the appropriate CRM is about you and determining what you want a system to do for you. The right CRM makes conducting business easier and enjoyable. If your system doesn’t do that for you, chances are, it’s not the right one. ~Tamara
