Passion: Is it calling your name now?

Passion is calling out your name?

Do you hear your name being called out by your passion?
Is your business or career on fire?
Are you answering the call to step more fully into your passion?

Passion is what drives us. If you doubt this, please watch the Winter Olympics for a few hours and then recall different times in your life when you could only see one thing in front of you – your passion. To the Olympic athletes, their passion (drive, interest, and commitment) is all they see. Consider the Olympians and a gold medal being similar to a hammer and nail… to the hammer, the whole world looks like a nail. To the Olympians everything looks like an optimal performance opportunity which will win a gold medal. Their dedication is extra-ordinary. They inspire others. We have much to learn from them.

Hello… Yes Passion, I’m ready to meet you!

Imagine the phone ringing and your passion was on the other end wanting to meet you. Would you confirm your appointment to express you passion? I sure hope so!  Why? We have a great deal of passion stored in reserve. When this invitation is extended to you, it is important to confirm. If you do, life will be grand. OK, perhaps a little awkward at first while you are figuring out something new, but if you don’t accept it you will feel as if something is missing in your life or everything will be “off” just a smidge. Can you relate?

“Life is short.
If there was ever a moment to follow your passion
and
do something that matters to you,
that moment is now.”

Is your business or career on fire?

Business Leaders who lead either your own business, or the business you are left to manage, are required to accomplish great things. What is the number one secret to doing this? Be passionate about what you are doing! Allow this passion to carry you across the murky waters of the unknown – all the way to the next shoreline. I’ve said it before, and I will say it again, your passion will accelerate your success and satisfaction.

Regardless of whether you have a singular passion of a variety to keep you accomplishing and celebrating, it is important for you to work with it – even if only in baby steps at first 🙂  Want to read more about managing more than one passion? Click on this sentence to learn more about the Passion Dance. If you are on fire, you will be more effective and efficient, heck, you will even be more attractive to others. Allow yourself to be consumed by the flames and see what happens.

Business Strategy: Answer when Passion calls you
Surprise! See where your passion leads you…

PASSION STORY TO SHARE: My bother is an artist and answered a “passion invitation”. He has been creating a myriad of things since we were kids. He always says “yes” to creativity. One of the things he learned several years back was he really enjoys ice sculpting. Over the past several years he has created very unique designs and won many contest. The polar bear image, in this blog, won him a first place award and the people’s choice award a couple of weeks ago. Overtime he has become passionate about sculpting in the cold of Wisconsin’s winters and now enters several contest each winter. When he speaks of his contests and sculptings, his whole face lights up. He is so happy about the experience. Pretty easy to see how something that brings great joy would just have to spill over into his work… and it does! It’s clear he is enjoying life (and his business is doing well) too 🙂
