Need a break? Take a day off and celebrate your success!

Need a break?  Why don’t you take a day off?

Are you ready to honor all you success with a time-out?
Do you need to take a break from things?
When was the last time you took a break?

Need a break? Take a break. Your life depends upon it!

Need a break? It’s Friday… why not this Friday or next? You’ve been working hard. Even been giving everything an extra push lately haven’t you? OK, maybe you don’t need a break on a Friday, maybe it’s another day and time… but, I assure you that you need a break more than you realize. Happy Friday everyone!

Today, after I get this post out, I’m on vacation until Sunday evening. Why? Today is my 50th birthday and Sunday is Mother’s Day! Why else? I’ve been working diligently on some big projects since last fall This girl needs a break! Good thing the weather is becoming summery and it’s Harley riding time again (insert big smiley face here). Many more positive time-outs in my near future this summer and fall.

We all need a break – more often than we realize

We all need a break. Unfortunately, much more often than we need. Somewhere along the way, it became acceptable to work through lunch breaks, come in early to work, and/or stay late. It also came acceptable to not take time off. It also became acceptable to sleep less and work even more hours. This negatively impacts performance.

I can’t be the only who thinks this…

I just read an article last week, which stated “the 9-5 work week doesn’t exist any more”. Working 40 hours is a thing of the past! Personally, I think America should have “4 days – 10 hours a day” work week. Most are already working 10 hours a day. But imagine, if you knew you could have 3 days off a week, wouldn’t you work diligently to assure you only needed to work 4 days? Everyone would be happier and profit margins would improve because overhead costs would be lower. This would make for a greener workplace and everyone would only be commuting 4 days instead of 5 and this would decrease emissions too. Sounds like a win-win-win to me for people-planet-profit. Am I the only one who thinks this way?

You and your team need a break, but how?

If you are a Business Owner-Leader, ask your team how they can become more efficient to gain more time off. I assure you, they already have the answer! For over a decade research consistently has revealed how people would rather have more time off than more money. Are you aware of this? How can you and your team restructure work to be more efficient while keeping a high level of effectiveness?

Do you need a break? Yes, you do need a break too! Probably much more often than you realize. How can you tighten up your day or delegate something to gift yourself more time away? What if you could have off 3 days a week? OK, that may be too much to wrap your head around. How about adding an hour a day back to your life? If you are interested in this concept, but don’t know how to make it happen? Call me I can help you with this. I’d be happy to help you accomplish this… your life literally depends upon it!!!

“Need a break” support quote for the week:

“People are working harder than ever, but because they lack clarity and vision,
they aren’t getting very far. They, in essence,
are pushing a rope with all their might.”

~Stephen R. Covey
