Lazy hazy summer days and business strategy success

Are the lazy hazy summer days of summer strengthening or weakening your business’s success?

Lazy hazy summer days and
business strategy success

As the calendar flips to August we find ourselves at the beginning of this year’s lazy hazy summer days. What does this have to do with YOUR Business Performance?

Usually this time of the year, Business Owners tend to be in one of two camps: the go get’em”I’m already deep into rockin’ the 3rd Quarter”or the lazy hazy “I’m just going to ride out the rest of summer” mentality with matching behavior.

We are now in the second half of this business year. With few exceptions, the activity generated in the 3rd Quarter is indicative of how your Business Performance will look at year end. I’ll say this a different way – YOUR year end profitability usually depends on the activity level of your 3rd Quarter. Good thing we are only one month into the 3rd Quarter!

Strong 3rd Quarter Already?

To all the Business Owners who are already rocking their 3rd Quarter – Congrats! You need to make sure you celebrate the success of all your hard work while staying on task for the next 2-3 months.

What about the Business Owners who are knee deep in strategizing different ways to build their business. Congratulations to you! You figured out what hasn’t worked well and are back to the drawing board. Remember to be marketing something during this time of strategizing. You need continuous cash flow.

What about the Business Owners who are crushing their Performance Goals for the year and are kicking back for the rest of summer? First, congrats to you! You’ve obviously figured out your secret sauce. Just remember to plan a return date to assure the balance of your year finishes strong.

Here’s the Danger of Lazy Hazy Summer Days for all Business Owners

During the lazy hazy days of summer, we tend to move a little slower and relax more. Regular readers know that I’m all about taking vacations and breaks to rejuvenate. However there is an important caution this time of year: Enjoy this time and make sure you are only visiting Lazy Hazy Summer Days Land. Don’t take up permanent residency here!

Take the time to slow down and catch your breath. Enjoy the warmth of the sun and all the playtime if provides.

However, you also need to remember: this is the begin of the harvesting season. If you don’t take action soon, you won’t reap the rewards of this season’s growth. I don’t want you kicking yourself in the butt later this year!

Over the years I’ve seen far too many Business Owners be slow to action during this time of year. Their haphazard hazy lazy approach of returning to business mode crushes their Business’s Success. I don’t want this for you.

TIP: As you make time to plan your vacation or time off, also make time to plan your return and reacquaint yourself with your goals for the balance of the year. Then, dive into making it come to life!

Lazy hazy summer days are tempting to Business Owners. What’s the one thing you could be doing now to assure your year end is successful? Share your answer in the comment section and I’ll reply.

    1. Your Welcome Barbara Marie. I feel this is such an important topic that I blog about it twice a year to remind everyone. Why? I know it gets lost in all the other “To Do” lists. Hope you have fun planning your vacation and planning your return 🙂
