OK, so this sounds a little obvious doesn’t it? But the crucial aspect to strategizing and accomplishing goals is to establish what they are 🙂
Is there a purpose to setting goals?
Yes! Goals serve you well by offering you guidance. When you set a goal, you determine where or how your journey will be noted as complete. Funny thing, I was speaking with a client the other day and she was amazed to hear that the goal isn’t the true measurement of success.
Yes, you heard me correctly! Your goal is the outcome of all the successes you made/took/created to actualize the goal. In the most practical manner success is when you continuously show up and act in new ways to support your goals! The goal really becomes the by-product of you accomplishing new habits!
Goals help direct you toward betterment
Once you determine your goals, you are able to identify your destination and then chart your course to get their effectively and efficiently. Think about it, for centuries maps have been charted to get people to their destinations. Why should we be any different? Well, actually we aren’t any different from Marco Polo or Christopher Columbus. We need constant direction or re-orienting to assure we will reach our preferred destination.
