Small Business Owners: Do you know why you should have a year end sales push?

End of Year Sales Push
for Small Businesses

What is an End Year Sales Push and why is it important for Small Business Owners (SBOs)? Whenever I write about this activity at the end of the business year, my phone rings nonstop. Even though many SBOs partake in it as a consumer, they aren’t familiar with having a big revenue push to wrap of their year’s sales.

Have you ever noticed how your inbox and social media accounts are filled with endless invites for courses and events immediately after Labor Day?

There’s different reasons for the end of year sales push:

  • Financial: Providers will end their business year stronger.
  • Seasonal: As adults we still have that back to school mentality and feel we should learn something new.
  • Mental: Customers (people) want to get one more learning curve in before the Holiday Season begins.
  • Cyclical: Certain offerings are more appropriate at certain times of the year.

The people who are sending you those invites are conducting an end of year sales push. Why? They want to meet their end of year business goals and/or they’re giving their revenue a booster shot of cashflow.

As the old saying goes, “Cash is King”. SBOs must bring in enough cash to offset all the financial needs their business requires. If their business isn’t generating enough cash or revenue to cover the costs, the business won’t be profitable. Thus, they promote events and programs to create a spike in revenue.

NOTE: Not all SBOs are doing an end of year sales push because they need cash. Most do it because they understand the end of the year is a great time to offer their products and services and it stabilizes their business’s financial performance.

Why do you want to get involved with the End of Year Sales Push as a Provider?

Perhaps the better question is, “Why wouldn’t you?”

You will have a new influx of customers to serve, your revenue will be strong, sales will stabilize your profit margin, your business performance numbers will be robust going into the new year, and your confidence will be unstoppable!

Jump in with both feet. Caution: Make sure you have a quality offer for maximum attraction before you jump into an active marketplace.

Please remember to have fun while you’re creating your new offering.

Is there something holding your back from doing your year end sales push? Please share in the comments section – I’ll be sure to respond.
