Direction through Clarity Ant Story

Very early this morning, while the grass was still laden with dew, I was out on the patio reflecting all of what needs to be completed today. I had just completed my prayers and meditation and was soon to begin my day when I noticed an ant.

This was a frantic little ant for he had lost his direction! He was racing back on forth, to and fro, on a small weed which had come up through the cracks on the patio. I was fascinated by this because I knew that ants create a scent trail wherever they travel so they can get back home again (like our version of breadcrumbs)! So I was really amazed at how long it was taking him to figure out he was on a detour, or “the scenic route” as some of my clients like to call it. It was quite a while, but eventually he figured it out and I cheered him onward to his destination. Then, I started thinking about how so many of us behave just like this ant…

Direction through Clarity Insights from My Patio

The ant was scurrying. How often do we find ourselves scurrying? Or even more insanely, how often are we scurrying when we are so close to our destination (the ant was less than a quarter inch away from getting his feet back on the ground again and moving in the right direction again). Which project or aspect of your role are you being an ant?

The patio rocks, which were the clear path (or best direction) to move upon, had a weed push through a small gap between the rocks. How often do little weeds (distractions) show up in our world? Better yet, how often do we allow them to reroute our direction? …hmmm…  If you are like most people pretty darn often! Life is full of weeds, but the key is to identify them as a distraction instead of your path to success as soon as possible 🙂 Once you do, you can get back on the proper path and move in the direction you need to get to your destiny! 🙂
