Last week I sat with a client who is in her business’s busiest time of the year – she has a retail business. The date was Nov. 28th and what do you think we talked about? We spent a total of 5 minutes discussing wrapping-up November and December’s Goals. What we did was focused on what is going to happen in mid-January. Now I know this seems odd, but this particular client gets how to be prepared. Thus, the rest of 2012 is on automatic pilot via everything else we discussed months ago!
I share this with you because this is NOT how most businesses function. Yes, this client is working to crush some targeted goals for this year, but they aren’t all harried over it! Yes, they are in their busiest season, but they have their game plan to guide them. I know just how amazing this is because once upon a time I ran a retail business during the Holidays too! Hats of to all of you who are on the same automatic pilot as this client is right now 🙂 Way to close out the year with a bang!
So, how does this all relate to you? Well, what amazes me is most people are still trying to figure out how they are going to wrap-up 2012 instead of focusing on what they want to make happen in 2013, and more specifically January- it’s already less than a month away!
