Business Strategy: Robert E. Lee’s Secret Success Strategy

YOUR BUSINESS RESCUE COACH ASKS YOU:
Do you know the strategies of your competition?
Do you know what to do to get the best outcome?

Are your Best Business Strategies working for you OR  #@*!&$? Sometimes, we must pause for a moment and do a quick re-orienting to our objectives. FYI: this isn’t a bad thing – actually, quite the opposite! Have you every got so focused on something that you lost sight of what was needing to be done? Most of us, unless we are in the Defense sector, have the luxury of not seeing each strategy as a military maneuver which could determine the victory or defeat of a war.

Instead most of us are strategizing how to be more successful and/or profitable with our next actions. Nothing wrong with practicing becoming a high-performing organization! So what can we learn from a man who was highly successful with nearly every battle? Plenty – this is especially notable because most of his opponents were trained with him, in the same tactics at West Point. Plenty!

General Robert E. Lee’s Secret Success Strategy

  1. People will always be the primary component to successful outcomes.
  2. Remember what you were taught, and remember that everyone else learned it too.
  3. Envision how others will naturally respond to circumstances.
  4. Do the unexpected!
  5. Celebrate Success with those who helped you achieve it.

Look at each one of these secrets and see if you are applying them to yourself, your team, and your organization as a whole. Are you? People truly are the most important element to success. Are you giving enough attention to your people? People, especially high-performers, can deliver success consistently if the are prepared with proper tools, training, and understand their objectives. Do you deliver these basic components to yourself and your team? If not, stop whatever you are doing right now and start minimizing these gaps which are hampering your victories!

WARNING: The application of this post will help you much more than you realize. It is one of the foundational activities to move a business toward success. If you are tired of not being victorious, start giving yourself a break by getting a handle on what is slowing you down right from the start.
