I really can’t believe that we are already completing Q1 for 2013… there’s still 10 days left for you to give it a good push, right? Well then, let’s keep this simple. Your boss hired you to make their life/job easier because you have a particular expertise they need for the organization to be successful. Your boss hired you so you could alleviate some of their burden – makes sense doesn’t it? So now you must look at the quarterly numbers, notice where you are not on PACE to make your goal…. and then think like your boss! Yes, when you quit scratching your head and begin to think like your boss, it all becomes crystal clear… OK, if you really don’t know your boss’s answer to the 2 questions below, go ask and get the answer… you will look like a super-star for knowing to ask!

  1. Which 1 thing does your boss need to accomplish- no matter what, yet this quarter?
  2. Select 1 activity, which will have the greatest impact to making your 1st quarter goals. Outline what must be done to make it happen yet this quarter.
  3. Immediately take this list to your boss and together create an action plan to achieve this.

NOTE: If you do this, you begin to stand out above the others that you care about your organization’s objectives and your boss’s success.
