Ability, Motivation, Attitude: Keys to Business Success

Ability, Motivation, & Attitude:
Do you have better keys for business success?

the altitude one gains from ability, motivation, and attitude depicted by an eagle soaring open-winged against a blue sky background.
You ability determines your attitude altitude

“Ability is what you’re capable of doing.
Motivation determines what you do.
Attitude determines how well you do it.”
~Lou Holtz

Ability reveals the level of success your business can attain. Why? If you have ability (capabilities and skills), you have confidence. Confidence has an attitude.Iit naturally emits or exudes. Have you ever met someone for the first time and they have an attitude of confidence and accomplishment, which you’re just picking up on?

Lately I’ve noticed a commercial about a women who has accomplished something and she has what the narrator says is “swagger”. Swagger is the boastful and opposite of the confidence I’m referencing. Swagger needs you to demonstrate or validate “you got it”. Emitting confidence and/or accomplishment is often noticed as “presence”.

What’s your ability, motivation, and attitude levels?

  • Is your ability automatically noticed?
  • Is your personality automatically noticed?
  • Are you accomplished?
  • Do you focus on gaining skills to have greater ability?
  • Are you continuously focusing on self and professional development?
  • Are you finding what inspires you? (Hopefully it’s your business if you are a business owner.)

Presence is an influential tool. Presence, is usually positive. It’s a high compliment if someone shares that your have a presence. Of course this isn’t the case if you have the presence of a jerk. Funny. Usually people would have a different phrase for that. Wouldn’t you agree?

Take time to work these three keys for business success and you will reap the rewards over and over again. Lou Holtz is one of the most positive and accomplished professional football coaches alive.
